Composer Harrison Collins provides has created fresh new score for either wind ensemble or orchestra. The Loft Creative Studio remastered the film and the audio sound effects. &#xA0;An optional live Foley artist solo part can be added to your production. The film and the score and parts are available through Ion Concert Media. &#xA0;The film is available 1920x1080 format. &#xA0;The electronic audio fx are divided into seven different tracks that are embedded in the .ion Show File. &#xA0;<h3 id="technical-considerations">TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS</h3>Sync Solution. &#xA0;Mus&#xE9;ik is the exclusive synchronizing technology. Mus&#xE9;ik allows the digital media to follow live tempo in real time. Please see other Knowledge Base articles to learn more about the technology. If you have not used Mus&#xE9;ik in the past, please allow 6-8 weeks minimum for technical planning. You will not need all of this time, but it is much better to stay ahead of schedule than to be forced to rush things the week of your concert. Files will only play on Mac computers; the show cannot be run with Windows machines. &#xA0;Video. The presenting organization is responsible for arranging projectors and display surfaces. Please consult with your local AV rental service to determine proper sizes for screens and projectors. &#xA0;If you are using a live Foley artist he or she will require a stage monitor with a live video feed matching the projected image (no audio is required). A typical setup will include the Mus&#xE9;ik software running on a laptop with two extended displays (the projection screen and the Foley monitor) both outputting the main video feed. Most modern Mac computers can deliver the two video feeds natively; do a web search for how to set it up for your specific hardware. As an alternative an external docking station or video splitter can be used. &#xA0;Audio. The .ion Show File ships with seven audio tracks. All the sound fx required in the film are split across these seven tracks, with Track 1 being the easiest and most basic fx and Track 7 being all the character voices. Sadly, the part of Pete The Bear was not salvageable and we used modern sound library elements for his parts.&#xA0;Foley Artist. This production has been designed to allow for an optional live Foley artist solo part to deliver some, most, or all of the audio fx live from stage. The Foley part is not notated or written down in any format. &#xA0;Instead, each producing ensemble is invited to apply their own creativity to the part. The first movement is a bit tricky to follow using the embedded score in the software. We suggest that you start practicing with Mus&#xE9;ik using the second movement. Then, once you get the feel for the program, go back and try the first movement.</section><section> &#xA0;2. Multiple movements are bundled into each Show File. At the end of a movement let the film play to just before the start of the next movement, then hit pause and wait for the downbeat.</section><section> 3. The opening of Movement 3: Ripples Is quite tricky. The water drops need to be timed perfectly with the orchestral water drops. TIP 1) Talk to the conductor before rehearsal and ask for a big, clean beat with no rubato, TIP 2) Focus on the hit points. Don&apos;t worry if you are un-syncd between those hit points; just make sure to &quot;stick the landing&quot; when those water drops happen, and TIP 3) set up Mus&#xE9;ik with a direct line of sight to the conductor no more than 30 feet from the podium. You will need to watch the conducting pattern with your peripheral vision and that gets hard if you are not set up in the right spot.</section><section> 4. Movement 6: Invention&#xA0;has a grey Safety in the score. Use it if you need it. A Safety indicates a place where it is OK to pause the video and wait for the live musicians. If the conductor is taking any liberty with the tempo at this spot we recommend that you intentionally push the media ahead of the live performance a bit, then hit pause at the Safety. Then, when the next downbeat comes (which is also a critical sync point), simply hit play and your entrance will be timed perfectly.</section><section> 5. Movement 7: Nature has another optional Safety.</section><section> 6. Movement 9: Look at the Stars has a tricky ending. You want the final bright white screen to cut to black exactly when the music cuts. To do this, we suggest the same tips as for the opening of Ripples: ask the conductor for a big, clean beat with a rock-steady tempo straight through to the cutoff.</section><footer> </footer>

The film&#x2019;s opening sequence evokes the unbridled energy and chaotichustle of urban life. Against this backdrop Bryant offers a powerful series ofhistorical clips documenting life in black America in the mid-1900&#x2019;s. Shots ofAfrican American jazz musicians punctuate street scenes of both hardship andcommunity, always vaguely implying that music serves as an escape from the harshrealities on the street. In the midst of this sequence we meet the young artist,represented visually as a silhouette, observing his musical and cultural heritage andtrying in vain to fit in with the more established jazz players. As this section of themusic concludes a close-up allows us to consider more deeply the young man, hisheritage and obstacles. &#xA0;&#xA0;Unapologetically. MICHEAL SILVA BRYANT &#xA0;&#xA0;Michael Silva Bryant is a filmmaker and photographer based in Minneapolis, MN. He is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). Since a young age, Silva Bryant has always displayed an interest in various art mediums, including drawing, painting, and stop motion animation. In high school, he began focusing on photography and developed a documentarian approach by capturing images to convey his life story. During his time at MCAD, he decided to push his narratives forward through filmmaking. Through his inspiration of different filmmakers, such as Hideaki Anno, Wong Kar-Wai, Barry Jenkins, and Wes Anderson, Silva Bryant directed a few short films. This includes his crowning film project &#x2018;Take Care of Yourself&#x2019;, a personal film that explores his grief in the passing of his mother in 2019. Silva Bryant&#x2019;s narratives not only focus on the &#x2018;Black American experience&#x2019;, but also include his personal life experiences that encapsulate his mentality at the time. Currently, Silva Bryant continues to practice and experiment with his films as he incorporates still photography, stop-motion animation, and found footage to push a narrative or overall mood.
