THE BASICS
"Suffrage Cantata" (Ion SKU 90095) is a film that accompanies Andrea Ramsey's composition of the same name. The film was produced by Vox Femina and is distributed through Ion Concert Media. The film is not a required component for performance. The film is available in 1920x1080 format.
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Sync Solution. Muséik is the exclusive synchronizing technology for this film. Muséik allows the digital media to follow live tempo in real time. Please see other Knowledge Base articles to learn more about the technology. If you have not used Muséik in the past, please allow 4-6 weeks minimum for technical planning. You will not need all of this time, but it is much better to stay ahead of schedule than to be forced to rush things the week of your concert.
Video. The presenting organization is responsible for arranging projectors and display surfaces. Please consult with your local AV rental service to determine proper sizes for screens and projectors. The Suffrage Cantata Show Files will not run on Windows machines; the show requires Mac computer(s) to run the software.
Versions. The film is available in two versions.
Film alone. This version ships with the 1080p film. A digital recording of the composer speaking the narrator parts is included and can be used if desired.
Film with Dynamic Teleprompter. This version includes the 1080p film and a second video display that contains Dynamic Teleprompter content for the live narrator. The Dynamic Teleprompter feed can be sent to an on-stage monitor to provide the narrator both the script and the delivery pacing. See gthe video below for a demonstration of how the Dynamic Teleprompter works.
Productions that use the Dynamic Teleprompter will need a video wall controller or some other app or device that can split the video image into two parts. NOTE: The two displays are formatted as 1080p, but inside the Muséik software they have been compressed (see video above). The device or app used to split the videos must also reformat them to 1080p aspect ratio.
