Does Muséik Distort Video or Audio?Updated a month ago

The short answer is "no."

A well-prepared performance should result in tempi that match the original tempo of the digital media within a few clicks in either direction, making any adjustments to the playback speed in the film and audio files imperceptible.

Additionally, great care was taken to develop the Muséik software with built-in boundaries in how the digital media can be manipulated. It is impossible to adjust the playback speed so fast or slow that it damages the digital media.

While it is entirely possible to make tempo choices that distort the film or audio playback, Muséik was developed using an assumption that the conductor and live performers will take care to select tempi respectful of the original. In cases where extreme tempi are chosen the software limits the amount of tempo adjustment to protect the integrity of the digital assets.

Just like any other musical instrument, the skill and preparation of the Muséik operator is the single greatest factor in the success and professionalism of the performance. A well-rehearsed performance will result in no visible or audible distortion.
